New West

Kennewick Primary

Care Clinic

Will add Urgent Care

clinic in November

Kadlec Clinic West Kennewick Primary

Care has moved to its new location at

9040W. Clearwater Avenue.

Providers at the clinic are

Shannon Dramis-Phipps, D.O.,

Joseph Oro, M.D.,

Jessica Almaguer, DNP-FNP,

and Stephanie Santos, ARNP.

The clinic cares for patients of all

ages, and new patients are welcome.

The clinic includes onsite, state-of-

the-art imaging services.

Adding Urgent Care soon

In November, the clinic site will

also offer Urgent Care.

“This is a new hybrid care model,”

said Brett Yancey, West Kennewick

Primary Care practice manager. “In

addition to primary care, the building

will also offer a separate urgent care

clinic with six exam rooms.”

The providers rotate between this

site and Kadlec Urgent Care at

4804W. Clearwater Ave., Kennewick,

and 9605 Sandifur Parkway, Pasco.

“This is a good way for us to meet

our growing urgent care needs while

making efficient use of our facilities,”

said Yancey.

Primary Care Clinic hours are

8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The clinic can

be reached by calling

509-942-3291

.

Urgent Care will be open from

8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. No appointments

will be necessary for Urgent Care.

Each year, Kadlec recognizes a Kadlec medical staff member and caregiver

who embody the compassion and caring that is part of a truly patient-centered

experience.

The 2016 Spirit of Planetree Physician

Champion Award winner is Omar Khan, M.D.

His nomination read, in part, “Dr. Khan spends

every day working with patients and families with

severe chronic illness or who are actively dying.

He takes time every single day with emotionally

draining issues and sits and listens while trying

to make symptoms better. It is always about what

the patient needs or wants at the place where

they are. He takes the time to teach nurses and doctors about how they can make a

difference in both the inpatient units and in the outpatient areas. He has a vision of

what end-of-life care can look like for our organization.

Recently, Dr. Khan had cared for a young woman for a year as her symptoms and

pain became worse. When all treatments had failed and she went to Hospice, he

made a point of visiting her at Hospice House and promised that he would continue

to be with her until the end. This included a last visit after working hours one night.”

The 2016 Spirit of Planetree Caregiver Award

winner is Jenny Davis, MA, CC-SLP.

Her nomination read, in part, “Jenny is the

epitome of personalization. She is a caregiver

who has Parkinson’s disease and has chosen

to specialize in helping patients with the same

disease. She is an amazingly skilled provider

anyway, but her ability to add that personalization

to her approach does so much for our patients.

Jenny exemplifies CAREgiving and takes it to the

next level. She is very inspirational. Her experiences have taught her about living

in the moment. She says ‘If you spend your life worried about, I have Parkinson’s, I

have cancer, whatever it happens to be, you’re going to miss those 3,000 sunsets in

between. You have today. What can you take into that sunset, what can you take into

your day that you can say, ‘This was good?’”

We also recognize the valuable contribution of

our therapy pets.

Our 2016 Spirit of Planetree

Animal Therapy Award winner is Baylee.

The

nomination read, in part, “Since Baylee is a

smaller dog, most people would want her to get

up on the bed next to them. Baylee would lean

up against the patient to snuggle and get pets.

Many of the nurses also love to see Baylee.”

Congratulations to these winners.
