Through the years, Kadlec Foundation has
awarded over $500,000 in scholarships to
area students pursuing their dreams of
careers as health care professionals.
Cassandra Hamilton is one of these
scholarship recipients. She is studying at
Columbia Basin College to become a
registered nurse and also works as a
certified nursing assistant on the cardiac
floor at Kadlec. Here’s what she said about
the impact of her scholarship.
“Receiving the Foundation scholarship
means I can focus on my goals in school. It
is difficult to work and go to nursing school
but with this scholarship, I am feeling at
ease and excited for the next two years
of classes! I won’t have to worry about
picking up extra shifts to cover extra costs.”
Upon learning about the scholarship,
Cassandra said,“I honestly teared up. I am so
thankful and grateful for the opportunities
Kadlec has given me. This hospital does
countless amazing things every day and I
feel so blessed to be working here.”
